The MVAPICH team is pleased to announce the release of MVAPICH2-GDR
2.1rc2.

MVAPICH2-GDR 2.1rc2 is based on the standard MVAPICH2 2.1rc2 release
and incorporates designs that take advantage of the new GPUDirect RDMA
technology for inter-node data movement on NVIDIA GPUs clusters with
Mellanox InfiniBand interconnect.

Features, Enhancements, and Bug Fixes for MVAPICH2-GDR 2.1rc2 are
listed here.

* Features and Enhancements (since MVAPICH2-GDR 2.1a)
    - Based on MVAPICH2 2.1rc2
    - CUDA7.0 compatibility
    - CUDA-Aware support for MPI_Rsend and MPI_Irsend primitives
    - Parallel intra-node communication channels
          - Shared memory for H-H and GDR for D-D
    - Optimized H-H, H-D and D-H communication
    - Optimized intra-node D-D communication
    - Optimization and tuning for point-point and collective operations
    - Update to sm_20 kernel optimization for datatype processing

* Bug Fixes (since MVAPICH2-GDR 2.1a)
    - Fix data validation in some scenarios for GDR-based communication
    - Fix the overlap performance issue for IPC-based communication
    - Fix for RMA operations with R3 protocol

MVAPICH2-GDR 2.1rc2 release requires the following software to be
installed on your system:

  - Mellanox OFED 2.1 or later
  - NVIDIA Driver 331.20 or later
  - NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit 6.0 or later
  - Plugin module to enable GPUDirect RDMA
  - (Strongly recommended) NVIDIA GDRCOPY module

Note that MVAPICH2-GDR 2.1rc2 offers a new feature of parallel
intranode communication channels (shared memory for H-H and GDR for
D-D). This feature is available as a separate package. Fore more
details on this feature, please refer to the MVAPICH2-GDR user guide
available at the following link:

All questions, feedback, bug reports, hints for performance tuning,
and enhancements are welcome. Please post it to the mvapich-discuss
mailing list (mvapich-discuss at cse.ohio-state.edu).

Thanks,

The MVAPICH Team

PS: The number of downloads from the MVAPICH site has crossed a
quarter million (currently stands at more than 269,000). The MVAPICH
team would like to thank all its users and organizations!!
