Yea. That turned out to be the issue. In the process of cleaning up my
machines for a fresh install, I had forgotten to set up the LD_LIBRARY_PATH
environment variables to the correct directory (/usr/local/lib)
         Pretty big mountain out of a tiny mole-hill  :|
