The MVAPICH team is pleased to announce the release of MVAPICH2-GDR
2.0b.

MVAPICH2-GDR 2.0b is based on the standard MVAPICH2 2.0b release and
incorporates designs that take advantage of the new GPUDirect RDMA
technology for inter-node data movement on NVIDIA GPUs clusters with
Mellanox InfiniBand interconnect.

The complete list of GPU-related features of this release
are as follows:

  - High performance inter-node point-to-point communication
(GPU-GPU, GPU-Host and Host-GPU) using GPUDirect RDMA and pipelining
  - Delivers improved performance for small and medium messages while
achieving close to peak network bandwidth for large messages
  - Multi-rail support for inter-node point-to-point GPU communication
  - High performance intra-node point-to-point communication for
    multi-GPU adapters/node (GPU-GPU, GPU-Host and Host-GPU) using
    CUDA IPC and pipelining
  - Automatic communication channel selection for different GPU
communication modes (DD, HH and HD) in different configurations
   (intra-IOH a and inter-IOH)
  - Optimized and tuned support for collective communication from
    GPU buffers
  - Enhanced designs for Alltoall and Allgather collectives on
    GPU device buffers
  - Efficient vector datatype processing on GPU buffers
  - Dynamic CUDA initialization. Support GPU device selection
    after MPI_Init
  - Support for non-blocking streams in asynchronous CUDA transfers
    for better overlap
  - Efficient synchronization using CUDA events for pipelined
    data transfers
  - Support for running on heterogeneous clusters with GPU and
    non-GPU nodes

MVAPICH2-GDR 2.0b release requires the following software to be
installed on your system:

  - Mellanox OFED 2.1
  - NVIDIA Driver 331.20 or later
  - NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit 5.5
  - Plugin module to enable GPUDirect RDMA

All questions, feedback, bug reports and hints for performance tuning
are welcome. Please post it to the mvapich-discuss mailing list
(mvapich-discuss at cse.ohio-state.edu).

We are also happy to inform that the number of downloads from MVAPICH
project site has crossed 200,000. The MVAPICH team extends thanks to
all MVAPICH2/MVAPICH2-X users and their organizations.

Thanks,

The MVAPICH Team
