[mvapich-discuss] similar latency figures observation for different speed networks

we are running IMB benchmark with MVAPICH2-1.9 (TCP/IP build) over 1Gbps
Ethernet network and 20Gbps InfiniBand with IPoIB.

We have observed that IMB Ping Pong Latency figures are almost same for
both the networks. What could be the reason behind same figures
considering difference in network speeds? 
could it be possible that TCP/IP stack nullifies the advantage of 
underlying high speed network.
 
Observation is same for both CH3 and Nemesis channels.
