My test runs are now detecting abnormal process termination from 
whatever cause and the mpirun_rsh/mpispawn framework cleans up quickly 
and reliably.

I really like this new daemonless approach; it's a lot easier to work 
with in our batch environment, and ultimately I think it's going to be 
more dependable, too.
