Most research on school misbehavior views students as passive beings whose acting out depends solely on outside forces such as peer behavior or classroom management. In his talk, "Adolescent Morality in Practice: How Teens Think about Everyday School Misbehavior,"
Dr. Daddis argues that on a day-to-day basis, adolescents consciously judge the nature and consequences of misbehavior. Accordingly, with his research on how teens think about everyday misbehaviors Dr. Daddis demonstrates that viewing teens as active agents
is necessary for a more complete understanding of adolescent morality.
