<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">As we are all aware, there has been an increase in recent months in active shooter incidents involving elementary and secondary schools, and also colleges and universities.
A recently as yesterday there were two more shooting incidents. One was at the </span>
<span lang="EN" style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";letter-spacing:.1pt">Stevens Institute of Business & Art in St. Louis and one at the
</span><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Hazard Community and Technical College campus in Hazard, Kentucky.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">It is important that everyone have some idea of how to react should an active shooter come onto the Marion Campus. Unfortunately, most people have little or no training
on what to do. I will continue to work on giving you the best information available on how to remain safe while on campus or even off campus should you be faced with an active shooter situation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
