2012 Regional Homecoming Court Candidate Information</span></b><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Each year, student leaders are chosen to represent each of The Ohio State University campuses as<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">members of the Homecoming Court. These individuals are selected by a judging panel consisting of<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">staff, faculty, and notable alumni. The court members are chosen based on their ability to exemplify the<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">qualities of leadership, spirit, integrity, and achievement through their contributions and involvement at<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The Ohio State University.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Requirements for regional campus courts<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Undergraduates who will have completed at least 45 (30 semester) credit hours by the beginning of<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">autumn quarter and maintaining a 2.50 cumulative G.P.A. are eligible to apply for the 2012 Homecoming<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Court. No members of the 2012 Homecoming Committee or past court members may apply.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><b><i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><b><i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Selection<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Six students will be selected as members of the 2012 Homecoming Courts on each extended campus.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Alternates will be chosen but not announced unless a Court member cannot fulfill his or her obligations.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">From these individuals, a King and Queen will be selected. The King and Queen will be announced<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">during the Homecoming festivities. The selection is based upon a combination of student vote,<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">application scores, interview scores and GPA. In the event of a tie, the highest GPA determines the<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">results. Each of the regional campuses will have a court of 6; 3 candidates for Queen and 3 candidates for King.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><b><i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><br>
Recognitions<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Regional Homecoming Court members will be recognized at a regional campus crowning ceremony in<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Columbus with families and friends; participate in the Homecoming Parade in Columbus; be announced<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">at the Skull Session; and be recognized during the Homecoming football game. Additional recognition<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">may vary by campus.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><b><i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><br>
Obligations<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Those selected as Court members will be required to attend a number of Homecoming functions including<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">a crowing ceremony, the parade, Skull Session, game, and other activities scheduled in Columbus and<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">on each regional campus. Professional attire will be required for some appearances. Costs for travel to<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">and from Columbus, optional hotel stays and other discretionary costs are the responsibility of the<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">student. Appearances, service projects and 2013 Homecoming Planning throughout the 2012-2013<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">academic year will also be required. Each applicant must understand that these appearances are<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">mandatory, and by accepting the court position, is also agreeing to fulfill them.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Interviews<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Homecoming Court interviews will be held between
<b>April 23-27. </b>The judging panel may consist of faculty, <br>
staff, or students of The Ohio State University at Marion. The 2012 Homecoming Court will be selected based
<br>
on the application (30%), interview (60%) and G.P.A. (10%). The King and Queen will then be chosen during
<br>
Homecoming Week through a combination of the application, interview, and G.P.A. and student vote.
<br>
All applicants will be notified of an interview time by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
