[Icicle-announce] ICICLE & AIIRA sign MOU to strengthen collaboration

NSF and USDA AI Institutes for AI Institute for Resilient Agriculture (AIIRA) and Intelligent Cyberinfrastructure with Computational Learning in the Environment (ICICLE) sign MOU to strengthen collaboration.



AIIRA is collecting large amounts of agricultural image and multi-modal data to train open-source ag foundational models to make available the power of AI in a scale agnostic way.



ICICLE is developing end-to-end training solutions that are deployable on high-performance computing resources to accelerate the training of such models.



This complementary set of expertise makes collaboration ideal for -



(a) extending training image based fine grained classification using a variety of large vision models



(b) extending this end-to-end training of multi-modal data.
