                                  speakers pronounce the <i>sheva</i>
                                  of <i>pesafas </i>if only because
                                  that helps them accent the final
                                  syllable (unfortunately they ignore a
                                  lot of other mobile shevas, ones
                                  thatwe  do -- and do not -- regard in
                                  our Romanizing).</span></p>
