remarkable that she, rather than someone who has been there thirty years, was first to receive the honor. Ziying's nominator spoke of her mentoring of students, support of colleagues, development of new courses such as "Women and Gender in East Asia" and "Anti-Asian
Racism," and spearheading of the creation of a Global Asian Studies Center at the College as evidence of her "commitment and passion for transforming our community and academia."
