Congratulations to Dr. Mariah Marsden on today’s able defense of a highly multidisciplinary dissertation, Still Warm to the Touch: Tradition and Rural Print Culture in the Ozarks. Mariah’s committee consisted of Dorry Noyes (folklore), Galey Modan (language and place), Beth Hewitt (American print culture), and Brooks Blevins of Missouri State University (Ozark history).

Next week Mariah begins a two-year stint at U of North Carolina-Chapel Hill as Postdoctoral Fellow in Grant Operations Management and Creative Engagement – where she’ll also have the chance to hang out with the UNC folklorists. Enhorabuena!

Dorry
