Hey Everybody!

After much consideration, it has been decided that the next workshop will cover the area of microcontrollers. Since there are many Arduino users in the club, the Arduino platform will be incorporated into the workshop. We'll be looking at other microcontroller architectures, such as Texas Instrument's MSP430 (used in the Launchpad platform) and Microchip's line of PIC devices. If you are an Arduino or TI Launchpad owner, feel free to bring your device!

The date for this workshop will be next Wednesday (10/30), or next Thursday (10/31). The date and time chosen will, like last time, be determined by availability of the club majority. Since our last workshop ran a bit on the late side, I'm considering starting at 5:30PM instead of 6:30PM. If you are interested in attending, please let if that time and date fits your schedule, by contacting me directly (halliday.70 at osu.edu). (Please do NOT respond to this message directly; it will attempt to send your response to the entire listserv.)

One other note: the lab has been cleaned up a bit, and we now have one lab station operational. This station has a power supply, function generator, multimeter, and oscilloscope. Additional test leads and accessories will be ordered as the funding situation improves. I'm also in the process of putting together the open lab hour schedule. This will be posted outside the lab and on the website as soon as it's complete.
