<span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0)"><b>Required Qualifications:</b> Ph.D. or Ed.D. in relevant fields of study, including, but not limited to, disability studies, social, behavioral, occupational or community health sciences.</span>
<p><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0)"><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b> Strong background in disability studies and research interests that closely intersect with either rehabilitation or behavioral/community health fields. Postdoctoral training
experience and an emerging program of funded independent research and scholarship that ideally has relevance for more than one branch of translational research (basic, applied, practice and policy). Additional expertise in related area studies, such as gender,
sexuality and critical race studies. Experience teaching in disability studies as well as publications and presentations in disabilities studies venues.

<b>Responsibilities & Requirements:</b> The Ph.D. program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, interdisciplinary and translational in nature, has three tracks: Behavioral and Community Health, Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences and Disability Studies.
The disabilities studies concentration is designed for researchers from any relevant field, as long as their research and scholarship considers disability not in terms of pathology or impairment, but as a range of unique social identities and experiences that
are shaped by visible or invisible diagnoses/impairments, socio-cultural perceptions and environmental barriers. The Assistant/Associate Professor will be responsible for teaching at the graduate level, with a negotiable teaching load. The successful incumbent
will establish and maintain a vigorous research and publication program, as well as participate fully in the life of the program, the School and the University.<br>

<b>Special Notes:</b> This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: August 1, 2017. Stony Brook University is 100%
