Detailed Job Description

The School of Art in the College of Art and Design invites applicants to apply for a one-year, non-tenure track visiting lecturer position in our Illustration program. The appointment begins August 10, 2022. The ideal candidate will teach a full load of introductory comics and illustration undergraduate courses. The range of student experience in the Illustration BFA program requires the candidate to demonstrate outstanding skills including strong draftsmanship, the ability to visualize concepts, the ability to advance the field of comics studies, and contribute to the program through critiques, portfolio reviews, and curricular design.

The School of Art is home to 27 full-time faculty members leading programs in ceramics, expanded forms, furniture design, glass, illustration, medical illustration, metals and jewelry design, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.  The minor in art history is based in the School of Art.
