Classrooms around the world experience the benefits of studying visual and
textual culture together. Comics, one of the best examples of this
intersection, offer unlimited opportunities for critical thinking and
storytelling. Theresa Rojas (Professor, Modesto Junior College) moderates
this panel discussion on comics and the classroom, featuring panelists
Christopher Gonzalez (Professor, Utah State University), Kathryn Blackmer
Reyes (Librarian, San Jose State University), and William Nericcio
(Professor, San Diego State University). Presented by Hyundai With
additional support from Josephine S. Gumbiner Foundation, San Manuel Band
of Mission Indians, Robert Gumbiner Foundation, Arts Council for Long
Beach, City of Long Beach
