<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;color:#212121;mso-ligatures:none"> We invite seminar speakers to our department so that they can can share new and recent research findings/discoveries. These discoveries are often unpublished. If speakers
find out that the work will be photographed, they ‘ slideswill stop sharing the newest results. It will also negatively affect the perception of our department.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;color:#212121;mso-ligatures:none"> You may have noticed that the seminars of the faculty candidates are being recorded via Zoom. This recording is for internal use only, i.e., so that faculty members who missed
the seminar due to a conflict, can view it to evaluate the candidate. We get permission from the faculty candidates for recording their seminars and delete it after the evaluation process is over. For example, today’s speaker has agreed to let us record
the seminar for this internal purpose, but he has not agreed to have others record or photograph his seminar or his slides.
