I'm still getting questions about the lab. Some of these may be
answered<br>
in my video version of the syllabus.<br>
<br>
You'll find Laboratory information by going to the Modules link and
then<br>
the Laboratory section and then click on an experiment. You'll find
information<br>
about what needs to be done for each experiment and pre-lab and
post-lab<br>
links for the experiments.<br>
<br>
The first two things you'll see is the lab Safety Statement and the
Gatekeeper<br>
Quiz. I've told everyone one about this multiple times. The TAs
should have<br>
had you do the Safety Statement in the first lab if you hadn't done
it already.<br>
If you still haven't done it you MUST take it before 11:59 PM on
Sunday, Aug. 27.<br>
This statement has to be read and "signed" (click on the button
attesting to the<br>
fact you've read and understand the safety rules) and before your
first lab period. <br>
You won't be allowed into lab next week if this isn't done. You
also need to<br>
take the Check-in and Safety (Gatekeeper) Quiz by 11:59 PM Sunday.
If you<br>
don't you won't have access to the other lab materials you need
(like the pre-lab<br>
for exp 2). I've sent this information in a previous e-mail so this
should just be<br>
a reminder but I see a lot of people have not done these things.<br>
<br>
Next you'll see "<span class="item_name"><span class="ig-title

title">Digital Lab Report Submission</span>". This has
instructions for<br>
what you need to do for uploading the lab reports. You MUST
follow these<br>
instructions. They can also be found when you click on the
Laboratory module or<br>
the Exp 1 link. It is your responsibility to make sure you upload
the correct files<br>
with the correct formats and names and they aren't corrupted.<br>
</span><br>
You'll also find report rubrics for each experiment at the link for
an experiment.<br>
The rubric tells you what you need to do for each experiment. You'll
find two<br>
forms of the rubric. The on-line grading rubric the TA will use to
enter your<br>
scores in each section is at the bottom. In the Criteria column
you'll see what<br>
should be included in the report. If you click on "view longer
description" it<br>
tells you what should be in each section. There's also a PDF form of
the rubric<br>
in the description for each lab. Honestly, it would probably be
easier to look at<br>
this PDF since it has everything spelled out w/o you having to click
on each of<br>
the "view longer description" links.<br>
<br>
I hope this helps to answer some of these general lab questions.<br>
