Do <b><font color="#ff0000">NOT </font></b>attempt it right now.
There was a mistake in #13 about the acceptable<br>
file formats. I contacted the person who wrote the program
yesterday and they<br>
stated they fixed it. However, now it doesn't seem to work
correctly at all.<br>
Hopefully they will see the e-mail I sent this morning and fix it
later today.<br>
I will let you know when you can take the quiz. <br>
<br>
There was also another problem in terms of whether you got 100%.
There are<br>
20 questions. You have to get 20/20. There was a bug in the
feedback you see<br>
after taking the quiz. Lets say you got 19 correct. It may have
shown 19/19<br>
(it should have shown 19/20). If you did NOT receive an e-mail
stating you got<br>
20/20 then you will need to retake the quiz.<br>
<br>
If you took the quiz already and got 20/20 you won't have to retake
it. Just<br>
remember what the acceptable file types are (see #13 below).<br>
<br>
There are a few other "problems" with this quiz. This is because
they used some<br>
questions and statements which strictly speaking apply to 1210/1220
but<br>
do not apply directly to 1250 as written. Here's some help for when
it is okay to<br>
once again take the quiz.<br>
<br>
#9 This question deals with what you should do if you didn't get
your notebook<br>
pages signed by your TA or turn them in before leaving lab.
You have to then<br>
come see me, the lab supervisor, and I make a decision on
whether they will be<br>
accepted and if so what point penalty will be given. I'm
the lab supervisor for<br>
1250, not Dr. Moga. She's the supervisor for all other labs
except 1250. I'm<br>
pretty much it for 1250, lecturer and lab supervisor.
However, for this question,<br>
there is only one answer which involves speaking to a lab
supervisor so that is<br>
the correct choice.<br>
<br>
#10 You are <b>required</b> to have the <b>most recent </b>version
of the lab manual, so there's<br>
no problem with this question. However, if you took 1250 in
Autumn 2017 and<br>
purchased the most recent version then and are retaking the
course you don't have<br>
to buy a new manual for this semester. However, you must
come see me with the<br>
manual and your notebook before your first lab.<br>
<br>
#13 Carmen will accept .doc, .docx and .pdf files. However, Carmen
seems to have<br>
some problems with .doc file. The question supposedly was
changed so that will<br>
now not be an acceptable format (answer) for this question.
However, as pointed out<br>
at the top of the e-mail that change didn't seem to be done
correctly.<br>
<br>
We only accept .docx or .pdf files. You must use .docx or
.pdf files for your report submissions. <br>
If you turn in any other format it will not be accepted.
When your TA starts grading<br>
the reports and they see this you will be informed to
resubmit a file in the proper format<br>
and late points could accrue if it's beyond the due date at
that point, including a zero for<br>
the report if it's more than 7 days late. Ultimately, it is
your responsibility to make sure<br>
you submit the correct report using the correct file name
and make sure it isn't corrupted<br>
(i.e. it is readable).<br>
<br>
#17 Doesn't really apply to 1250. We don't have the same type of
post-labs that<br>
they do in 1210/1220. So for this question just answer it
"You are given two attempts.<br>
You should use the second attempt to correct the error. More
attempts will not be granted."<br>
<br>
In 1250 we have some post-lab quizzes on Carmen. You get
only 1 attempt.<br>
<br>
#19 For 1210 and 1220 the lab supervisors put announcements
concerning lab on Carmen<br>
rather than sending an e-mail. I send an e-mail to the
whole class, as I have been with<br>
other things, to make sure everyone gets them and "sees"
them, or at least knows they<br>
got a message about lab.<br>
<br>
#20 In 1250 we don't do "make-up" labs. If you miss a lab you
need to e-mail your TA.<br>
The will then consult with me about what to do. However,
for this question answer it<br>
with "Complete the “request for Make-up Lab” form on Carmen"<br>
<br>
I apologize for any confusion.<br>
