This is a reminder there is post-lab data entry for exp 14 that must
be completed by the report due date this coming week.
Remember, enter the data for your UNKNOWN
compound.
Also, remember the b.p. for the known compounds you are supposed
to find in the CRC are the normal b.p. (VP of 760.0 mmHg).
For the unknown you measured the b.p. on that particular day
in lab at the prevailing atmospheric pressure in the lab which you
read from the barometer (not likely to be 760.0 mmHg). Make sure
you read the stuff I've sent and on my web page about s.f. for
Ps from eqn 6 and how that translates to s.f. in the ln(Ps). If you
didn't save my e-mails you can find them on my class web page.

This program is different than the one you used for exp 5 (you used
this newer one for the exp 14 pre-lab). You can find the link on
Carmen,
my web page and the syllabus.

Please use Firefox. It is the most robust one in terms of how it
works with these programs. I'm sure it has it's own quirks but
the programs were tested pretty thoroughly using Firefox. I know
certain errors are caught when using Firefox which aren't caught
in other browsers. For instance, accidentally leaving a numeric
field blank will be caught by Firefox and it will give you the
opportunity to go back an fix it. Chrome on the other hand will
treat a blank numeric field as a zero and blindly continue on.
Of course this will be a problem for you.

Our computers are scheduled to be down tomorrow, Friday,
5 PM - 12 AM for maintenance. You may not be able to reach
the servers during this time to enter your data.

I hope everyone has had a good Spring break so far. I tried to
keep the e-mails to a minimum. I will be sending some out here
shortly about exp 16 which we will be doing next week.
