Mastering uses symbols and colors for various types of assignments.<br>
There are two viewing formats you can use, Calendar and List.<br>

In the calendar format assignments show up as different symbols/colors<br>
(explained in detail below). If there's too many on a particular day to show<br>
it shows this (e.g. "+5 more"). When you click on a day you should see<br>
information about the assignment(s) to the right, such as the name, due<br>
date, number of items and the estimated time required (I've found from<br>
past classes the time it takes is closer to the low end of the range shown<br>
or even less). Then click on the link for the assignment. It will show<br>
if there are points associated with the questions. The calendar format<br>
makes it easy to see what days assignments are due in one screen.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-add-space:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">available, even if not “assigned”. What are these for? If you need some<br>
extra work. They are randomized. Make sure you do the assigned book<br>
problems and the MC homework which is for credit (see above) before<br>
trying these. Most students have told me these are easier than the<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-add-space:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">EOC exercises in the book. Pearson told me they’re meant to give mostly<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-add-space:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">simple basic questions to make sure people at least know the basic things.<br>
Many use them as a review before the exam. However, you need to make<br>
sure you can do the end-of-chapter exercises and the MC tutorials and<br>
homework review assignments if you hope to do well on the quizzes and<br>
exams.<br>

<b>Practice Exercise 1:<br>

</b>These are the Practice Exercise 1 problems which follow the Sample Exercises<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-add-space:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">in a chapter. I've included these so you would have the solutions to these
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-add-space:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">questions since there are no answers in the book for these. You can ask for<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-add-space:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">the answer and it provides a short explanation. The answers for practice<o:p></o:p></span></p>
