                  cell phones <b>in lab</b>.  They need to be put away
                  in<br>
                  your book bags (not just in </big></font></big></font><font
            size="2"><big><font size="2"><big><font size="2"><big>the
                      "cubby" holes under the lab benches<br>
                    </big></font>or your pocket).  </big></font></big></font><font
            size="2"><big><font size="2"><big><font size="2"><big>We
                      don't want you texting, surfing the internet,<br>
                      playing games, etc. while you're suppose to be
                      working</big></font>.  We want<br>
                  you paying attention to what you're doing.  </big></font></big></font><font
            size="2"><big><font size="2"><big><font size="2"><big>Being
                      distracted could<br>
                      cause </big></font>you to make a mistake, have an
                  accident, not finish the exp., etc. <br>
                </big></font></big></font><font size="2"><big><font
                size="2"><big><font size="2"><big>While in lab we want
                      you concentrating on the tasks at hand.</big> <br>
                    <br>
                  </font>Laptops or tablets are generally not allowed in
                  lab.  The lab supervisors<br>
                  will let you know if and when to bring such a device
                  to lab.  It's generally<br>
                  not a good idea to have them out anyway while working
                  with chemicals<br>
                  as they could spill on your laptop/tablet and probably
                  break it.<br>

                size="2"><big><b><font size="2"><big><font size="2"><big>No
                            cell phones are allowed during </big></font></big></font></b><b>review/quiz
                    sessions or exams.</b><br>
                  They must be turned off and put away.  ALL electronics
                  except<br>
                  your calculator must be turned off and put away for
                  quizzes and<br>
                  exams.  This includes watches since we don't want to
                  have to take<br>
                  the time to see whether they're internet connectable. 
                  If you use<br>
                  electronics other than a calculator during a quiz or
                  exam it would be<br>
                  considered an academic misconduct violation.<br>
                  <br>
                  Cell phones should not be out during reviews.   This
                  generally applies<br>
                  to tablets and laptops as well.  I know you may need
                  to access the<br>
                  e-text for a question thus you might need to access
                  your tablet or laptop.<br>
                  However, if the TA sees you messaging or surfing the
                  internet they will<br>
                  deduct review points.  You don't get points for
                  attending just because<br>
                  you're physically there.  We want you actively
                  participating, which<br>
                  includes paying attention to what's being discussed.<br>
