<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#333333">SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Program Assistant works as part of the OSU Extension team in Franklin County. The Program Assistant teaches food and nutrition-related subject
matter to groups of low income youth in grades one through eight at community settings. Position Responsibilities: 75%: Using standardized curriculum materials based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, teaches food and nutrition-related subject matter
(physical activity, food safety, food resource management and food security) to low income youth grades 1 through 8 in groups at community settings including but not limited to: schools, summer youth programs, recreation programs, after school programs, YMCAs/YWCAs.
10%: Maintains accurate and complete records and reports for all activities, as required by the sponsor agency and by OSU Extension; uses standardized evaluation instruments to assess program participants’ knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors to determine
educational needs and program impact; maintains confidentiality of participants and individual records. 10%: Recruits program groups through collaborating community agencies and organization; networks with community agencies and organizations that also target
low income families with young children or low income youth. 5%: Attends staff meetings and in-service training programs at the local, regional, and state level as required by supervising Extension Educator and project manage; implements changes as required
by the sponsor agency and by OSU Extension. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or equivalent certificate; indigenous to the community; knowledge of the community’s infrastructure and culture; ability to teach nutrition/food safety/thrifty food shopping/food
preparation/physical activity, network, recruit participants, and learn nutrition related information; knowledge of household management; willing to work in economically and socially disadvantaged areas; ability to work with persons from different ethnic and
cultural backgrounds; willing to work in schools and after school programs; ability to lift and carry materials; access to own transportation; available some evenings and weekends. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Post High School training or Associate’s Degree in
Nutrition, Physical activity or Family & Consumer Sciences related area. <br>

to financial records management, education resources, word processing, editing, and clientele requests. The Office Associate must have knowledge of accounting principles and software, and word processing software programs; and must be able to work with other
office staff to maintain the office work flow. Position Responsibilities: 30%: Maintains financial records, including general ledger accounts and purchase orders, receives and receipts payments, and prepares billings and processes office payments. 15%: Word
processing for educational material layout and design. Operates general office equipment. 25%: Maintains electronic data base and paper files, and county Extension webpage. Maintains office supplies and orders items as needed. 15%: Serves are receptionist,
greets walk-in clientele, answers telephone, takes messages, and directs calls and visitors. 15%: Prepares bulk mailings, postage, and processes office mail. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Six months experience (600 hours training) using computers to generate a
variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; 6 months experience (600 hours course work) in office practices and procedures; 6 months experience (600 hours course work) in customer service; must be able to proofread, design, and reproduce resource material
and carry out tasks independent of supervision; must have ability to operate general office equipment. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bookkeeping and accounting skills, including QuickBooks software; word processing skills/experience, including Microsoft Office Windows,
Word, Access, and Excel software. <br>
