<u><b>College Industry Conference (CIC): </b></u></div>

The CIC in an annual conference in Chicago aimed at introducing industry professionals to college students. Historically, students who attend the conference are<span> </span><u>offered internships</u><span> </span>during networking events with various industry
professionals, and scholarships are awarded as well. This event is really geared to help industry leaders to find students interested in the metals casting related industry for internships and full time jobs, so if that describes you, you're in luck. This
year we will be sending five students to the conference,<span> </span><u>ALL EXPENSES PAID FOR</u> by<span> </span>the club. If you are interested in being wined and dined in Chicago please let me know immediately. We have been asked to get a list<span> </span><b>by

Next week the club will host some of our industry partners from the central Ohio chapter of AFS. The meeting will be to provide an update to the partners about foundry club activities and will be a catered event. Please come and enjoy a free dinner and help

We are currently waiting to hear back from the building coordinator about permission to use the foundry for a club event. We are trying to get some time in the foundry set up as soon as possible to really kick things off for this year. Based on everyone's responses
to the survey, it looks like Tuesdays from 11-1 and Thursdays from 12-2 are the times that work for the most people who responded to the survey, so our meetings will likely happen during one of these times once we get approval for a date.</div>

For all those who attended the kickoff meeting you heard about our interests in your designs of some possible castings. For anyone not at the meeting, the club is looking for some submissions for new casting designs/patters to make as a club throughout the
year. If you have an idea or interest in a design please email me. For anyone who is familiar with solidworks or another CAD program, please make up a part file. This will help determine if we have the ability to make such a thing, or how it may need to be

with CAD programs, we still want to here your thoughts so please send them to us, and we will work with you on making your design in solidworks. There were some great ideas at the kickoff meeting so we would love to see them happen. </div>

We will most likely be holding elections in December for new officer positions. In particular we will be looking for a new E-council rep, secretary, treasurer, and vice-chair. If you are interested please keep an eye out for future emails about the elections.

November 1st</u></span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">. These programs provide an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of Navy laboratory during the summer.</span></p>

is open to high school students and pays $4,500 for the 8-week summer internship. Undergraduate NREIPs are paid $9,500 and graduate NREIPs are paid $12,000 for the 10-week internship.</span></p>
