PCC Airfoils specializes in industrial turbine application to be used for power generation. They are one of the largest manufacturers of turbine blades in the Country. Each blade is single crystal, and they use super alloys composed primarily of nickel and cobalt are used to cast the blades and vanes for their turbine engines. Our visit to PCC will consist of a tour of the entire plant, an overview of their technical development program, a presentation about Co-op opportunities and will end with lunch. This is a great opportunity to network, and potentially get an internship/co-op, and see how things are done in the industry. The plant is about 2 hours away, so we'll likely have to leave campus around 7:30 am, and we'll likely get back between 3 and 4 pm. If you have to miss class, professors are usually very understanding when it comes to this kind of thing, and the experience will be worth it. The number of students who can come is limited so please fill out the attached google form as soon as possible.
